Why we built this
A city of strangers became people who know his name.
I built Amidipet for Tintin, my golden retriever, and for the people we kept meeting at the park: the ones who knew his name before they knew mine. Amidipet is where that happens on purpose, in any city. It is members only, it is free, and no algorithm decides who your friends are. Your dog does.

GPS runs only while you record a walk. Never in the background, never kept as a map of your days.
Private means private
Messages are never scanned. No ads in your conversations or in your dog's story.
Gated by default
No public feed. Only the pages you choose to broadcast, like a lost-dog alert, are public.
Humans, not algorithms
Communities and walks are chosen by people. Nothing decides who your friends are.
Free for what matters
Walks, alerts, messages, communities: free for everyone. Clearly labelled sponsored cards in the feed are the whole model.

Maybe, maybe not yet. Amidipet works in every city and is alive where dog people are. Pick yours: if a community exists you'll see it; if not, start it. Every group walk here started with one dog, and the next person who joins finds you.
Is it free?
Yes, for everyone, for good. Walks, alerts, messages and communities have no paywall. Clearly labelled sponsored cards in the feed pay for the whole thing. Never your data, never your messages.
Do you track my location?
No. The only place we keep is the city you picked from a list. GPS runs while you record a walk and stops the moment you do. Routes stay private unless you share one.
My dog needs space. Is this for us?
Yes. A "needs space" note on your dog's profile tells members before you meet, and walk hosts set size caps and notes on who fits. Reactive, shy, recovering or elderly dogs are welcome at their own distance.
Who can see what I post?
Members, and only where you posted it: your dog's story to members, a community post to that community, a message to the person you sent it to. Nothing is public unless you choose to broadcast it, like a lost-dog alert page.
Do I need the app?
Amidipet works fully in your browser, same account. The app is where recording a walk, the home-screen widget and lost-dog alerts live, so it is the better home. iPhone and Android.
